Dr Brater is a sociologist and Professor of Cultural and Vocational Education and Pedagogical Research at the Alanus University. As Head of the Institute for Art in Social Dialogue, he has a very wide experience of different aspects of education and vocational training and has specialized in studying the opportunities art offers in professional training. His particular field of interest is the use of artistic activities as a way of dealing with the dynamics of an increasingly individualistic society today.

Artistic Director: Prof. Dr Ulrika Eller-Rüter

Dr Eller-Rüter is Professor of Painting, as well as a freelance artist and fully-qualified Art Historian. She has worked as a teacher and is now Head of the Institute for Art in a Social Context. She has been responsible for numerous artistic projects for socially and educationally disadvantaged children, adolescents and adults. Her particular area of research is the extended concept of art and its application in education, society in general and in the dialogue between different artistic forms.

Musical Director: Friedemann Geisler

Friedemann Geisler is a qualified music teacher (Cologne College of Music), a professional musician (piano and drums) and teaches at the Alanus University. He has trained as a School Development Consultant and has experience in running music workshops in different organisations and companies and as a corporate consultant. |
